| In 1982, The late J. Marvin Comer and Linda Comer, started J. M. Comer Construction, Inc. Marvin Comer worked for several prominent construction firms beginning in 1958 at age 16 and quickly showed his skill and leadership abilities working his way up from an Operator to Foreman, Superintendent and then Vice President.
After many years of successfully managing other people's businesses, he decided to start his own business along with his daughter Linda Sue Comer. Linda works in inside managemnt, job take-offs and assisted in field management.
Linda's two other sisters joined the team when Marvin was ready to cut back and semi retire. In 1998 the three sisters purchased their father's company and formaly changed the name to Comer Construction, Inc.
In March of 2002, Comer Construction became certified by The Maryland Department of Transportation as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE). Business is going extremely well.
Annual sales average 24 Million dollars. Comer Construction works as a General Contractor or as a Subcrontractor to many General Contractors and performs the following types of work:
