Safety Data Sheets
A Hazardous Chemical Inventory List is a list in alphabetical order of all hazardous chemicals in the workplace. A Safety Data Sheet (SDS) means a written or printed material concerning a hazardous chemical that is prepared by the chemical manufacturer. As per the Hazard Communication Standard ( 29CFR1910.1200 ) a Safety Data Sheet shall be made readily available to all employees when a hazardous chemical exists. By clicking on the "Safety Data Sheets" link above, employees will have access to the Hazardous Chemical Inventory List along with all Safety Data Sheets.
Note: Safety Data Sheets are updated every two years. The last update was February 1, 2018.
Comer Construction employees often perform tasks in confined spaces - work areas that (1) are large enough for an employee to enter, (2) have limited means of entry or exit, and (3) are not designed for continuous occupancy. These spaces can present physical and atmospheric hazards that can be prevented if addressed prior to entering the space to perform work. The documents listed below provide employees with further information about these spaces, the hazards they may present, and ways to safely work in them.
- Comer Construction Confined Space Program (Health & Safety Manual HC-3)
This program establishes the minimum requirements for Comer Construction to perform confined space entry, and serves as the foundation of the mandatory written permit-required confined space entry program.
- Confined Space Entry Permit
Confined Space Entry Permit means the written or printed document that is provided by the employer who designated the space a permit space to allow and control entry into a permit space and that contains the information specified in this program.
A protective system is a method of protecting employees from cave-ins, from material that could fall or roll from an excavation, or from the collapse of adjacent structures. Protective systems include support systems, sloping and benching systems, shield systems, and other systems that provide necessary protection. Trench Box Certificates (Tabulated Data) are tables and charts approved by a registered professional engineer and used to design and construct a protective system. The Trench Box Certificates link below provides Comer Construction employees access to all Comer Construction owned protective systems.
