Laborer (Entry Level)
Full Time | Forest Hill, MD
Assists pipelayers and others in performing duties required in construction and related tasks. This is an entry-level position.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assists with all material movement tasks.
- May help hoist equipment and heavy objects.
- May smooth and finish freshly poured cement.
- Helps load and unload trucks.
- May operate light equipment, check grade, and perform other construction-related laborer tasks to include minor landscaping.
- Cleans up site after construction.
- Completes job in accordance with Company safety procedures and customer specifications.
- Touch up or incidental painting and light carpentry work.
- Assist with general construction related duties during slow periods.
- Works inside and outside year round in different types of weather.
- Adhere to all company standards and work safely
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma, GED, or trade school completion certificate.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
- Must be able to pass drug screen and criminal background check.
- Ability to read, write and accurately follow oral and written instructions.
- Excellent physical condition. Position requires ability to grasp, walk, lift, carry, push, pull, climb, kneel, stoop, squat, bend, crouch, crawl, and reach in small spaces.
- Requires excellent manual dexterity to use handtools and portable power equipment.
- Must work daily and weekend overtime as needed or assigned.
- Must be self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision.
