Safety does not occur by chance; it is the direct result of strict oversight of daily activities, the implementation of a seamless safety program, and the commitment of all of our employees. In 2018, Comer Construction was awarded the Maryland Associated General Contractors (AGC) 2018 Safety Excellence Award, in recognition of our extraordinary 2018 Safety Performance in achieving zero lost time and a combined incident rate 58% below the Bureau of Labor Statistics average rate for its industry sector.
Our employees commitment to safety in the workplace is just another way we continue to strive for safety excellence each day. Each year, we honor employees for their outstanding effort and achievement in going over and above to help make Comer Construction a safer place to work. Comer Construction was honored with the 2021-2022 Miss Utility Dig Smart Award as the safest contractor in Maryland by the Miss Utility of MD/DC Damage Prevention Committee.
2022 Great West Safety Award
Comer Construction received a very prestigious award from Maryland Motor Truck Association for having 500,000 – 1,000,000 safe driving miles in 2022.

Presented by the National Association of Home Builders + Builders Mutual Insurance Company, this Safety Award for Excellence recognizes Comer Construction as a leader in the site construction industry committed to positively impacting workplace safety in the home building industry across the nation.
