Emergency Water Main Repair Services
When a Water Main Breaks, Every Minute Counts
Water main failures don’t wait for good weather or business hours. When a break occurs — in the middle of winter, on a weekend, or during a storm — you need a team that answers the call, shows up fully equipped, and gets the job done safely.
Comer Construction has been the trusted emergency repair partner for Maryland water utilities, municipalities, and contractors for over 40 years. We have the crew, the equipment, and the experience to respond fast and work safely — even in the most demanding conditions.
Our Emergency Water Main Repair Capabilities
When you contact Comer Construction for emergency water main repair, you get a full-service response:
- Rapid mobilization — We move quickly to minimize service disruption for the customers and communities who depend on your system
- Excavation and exposure — Safe, precise digging to expose the failed main, regardless of depth or soil conditions
- Trench protection — Proper trench boxes and shoring installed for every excavation, protecting crew and complying with OSHA standards
- Repair coordination — We work alongside your utility crews, engineers, and water service teams to support a complete, efficient repair
- Site restoration — We don’t just dig and leave. Our crews restore the site following repair, including backfill, compaction, and surface repair as needed

Built for the Conditions That Can’t Wait
Winter storms. Frozen ground. Downed trees. Ice-covered job sites. Comer Construction’s crews are experienced working in the conditions that make emergency response hardest.
Our equipment fleet — including hydroexcavation trucks, excavators, loaders, and support trucks — is maintained in-house and kept job-ready year-round. We don’t outsource our maintenance. When you need us, we’re ready.
A Trusted Partner for Maryland Water Utilities and Municipalities
State and local officials managing water infrastructure need a contractor they can count on — one with the certifications, capacity, and track record to be added to your emergency response roster before a break ever happens.
Our certifications make us an eligible partner for state and municipal contracts with WBE/MBE participation requirements. If you’re building or maintaining an emergency contractor list, we’d welcome the opportunity to connect.

Employees of Comer Construction repaired a water break on my property. Unfortunately, in the way of the repair was a beautiful stone wall constructed by us. They went above and beyond to work safely around the wall to complete the project, even reinforcing the wall after the water main was repaired. All involved were very personable, friendly, and kept us informed every step of the way. Congrats on training your crew in the best of customer satisfaction. Sincerely, Deora Grove.
What Sets Comer Apart in an Emergency
When conditions are at their worst, a few things matter more than anything else:
Safety. We run a safety-first operation — always. That means trench boxes on every excavation, certified flaggers managing traffic, and a crew culture where doing the right thing isn’t negotiable. Our award-winning safety program isn’t just recognition — it’s how we work every day.
Reliability. You’ll reach a real person. Our team will give you a straight answer on timing, scope, and what to expect. No excuses, no runaround.
Experience. Over four decades of underground utility and site work means our crews have seen it all — and know how to adapt when conditions change mid-job.

Comer was contacted and showed up first thing Monday morning.
Joe and his crew were friendly, conscientious and professional. They all worked very hard through completion of the repair until about 8:30 PM. A bit if history, but our entire court had the lines replaced 3 years ago from the main street all the way to our curb stops. What Joe discovered was that that job was poorly done and only 1 foot deep. No shortcuts, Joe made it right.
