Nothing Gets Built Until the Ground Is Ready.
That's Where We Come In.A Certified Women-Owned Site Development Contractor. Serving Greater Baltimore Since 1982.
Complete Site Construction. Start to Finish.
We self-perform every aspect of site development with our own crews and equipment. From the first pass of the dozer to the final stormwater control measure, one contractor is accountable from day one.

Grading & Excavation
Site preparation is where every project begins. Our experienced grading and excavation crews handle full site clearing, rough and finish grading, and earthwork to spec — so the next phase of your project starts on solid ground.

Underground Utilities
The work nobody sees makes everything else possible. Comer Construction installs sewer, water, and storm drain systems with the precision and equipment needed to keep your project on schedule and on budget.

Stormwater Management
Every site disturbs the land. Comer Construction implements approved erosion control and stormwater management plans to protect the surrounding environment and keep your project compliant from groundbreaking through completion.

Maintenance of Traffic
Keeping a worksite safe means managing what happens beyond the fence line too. Our MOT team provides traffic control, lane closures, and flagging services — MDOT-trained and ATSSA-certified, compliant with all federal and state standards.
My grandfather started this company with a vision — to build not just projects, but careers and a true family culture. Today we carry that same commitment into every job.
About Comer Construction
Comer Construction was founded in 1982 by J. Marvin Comer with two trucks, a loader, and a dozer. His daughter Susie was by his side from the beginning, and together they built one of Greater Baltimore’s most trusted site development contractors, built on repeat business, honest work, and a reputation that speaks for itself.
Today, Comer Construction is a certified MBE/WBE contractor with a large, modern fleet maintained entirely in-house by our own mechanics. Our award-winning safety program sets the standard on every jobsite, and our team brings the experience and equipment to handle every phase of site development.
As a third-generation family business, we bring the same values to every job that Marvin brought to the first one.
