About Comer Construction
Comer Construction was founded in 1982 by J. Marvin Comer with two trucks, a loader, and a dozer. His daughter Susie was by his side from the beginning, and together they built one of Greater Baltimore’s most trusted site development contractors, built on repeat business, honest work, and a reputation that speaks for itself.
Today, Comer Construction is a certified MBE/WBE contractor with a large, modern fleet maintained entirely in-house by our own mechanics. Our award-winning safety program sets the standard on every jobsite, and our team brings the experience and equipment to handle every phase of site development.
As a third-generation family business, we bring the same values to every job that Marvin brought to the first one.

Grading & Infrastructure in Bel Air, MD
Comer Construction started work at The Homestead Wakefield Elementary School in Bel Air, Maryland during December 2021. Comer Construction’s scope of work for the first phase of this project included grading, underground utilities, and stormwater management.

Grading & Utility Work at Baltimore City School
Comer Construction has been busy with site work at The Highlandtown Elementary/Middle School in Baltimore City since June 2021. We started with grading and stormwater management in preparation for construction of the new school.
Hydro Excavation in Maryland
Soft digging via hydro excavation saves lives. We were recently tasked with replacing a fire hydrant. There were four unmarked secondary electrical lines that would have injured our team if we used mechanical methods. Thankfully, we used hydro excavation and safely excavated the area.
