Comer Construction is proud to have supported the development of the second Sheetz location in Harford County, located at 1915 N Fountain Green Road in Bel Air, MD. This highly anticipated project provides more convenience for local residents and travelers alike—and Comer played a key role in making it happen.
Our team worked alongside General Contractor Speedwell Construction to execute all earth-moving, site preparation, and road widening. From clearing and grading, to utility coordination and access improvements, our team ensured every groundwork element was handled to spec—on time and up to quality standards.
Comprehensive Site Construction Services
Bringing a new Sheetz location to life required more than just clearing land—it demanded a full range of site development services. Comer Construction provided the groundwork and infrastructure improvements needed to prepare the property for construction and ensure safe, efficient access for future customers. Our scope of work included:
Site Preparation & Earthmoving
Our crews cleared the land, removed vegetation and debris, and performed precise grading and excavation. This helped establish a stable base, proper drainage, and a leveled footprint for construction.
Underground Utilties
We installed necessary utility services including stormwater systems, drainage, and other underground utilities. All excavation and backfill work was coordinated with the utility plans to meet local codes and engineered specifications. TrenchTech, Inc. supplied the box for this project.
Road Widening & Access Improvements
On Fountain Green Road, Comer expanded the roadway, improved curb cuts, and updated access points to support traffic flow and safety. Work included adjusting roadway alignment and ensuring pedestrian and vehicular access meets local traffic standards.
Erosion Control
Comer Construction implemented erosion and sediment control measures to manage runoff and protect surrounding properties. Our team ensured compliance with environmental regulations while maintaining the integrity of the site throughout construction.
Construction Site Safety
To minimize disruption during construction, we provided safe and efficient access for vehicles and pedestrians. This included maintaining site ingress and egress, coordinating lane shifts, and supporting traffic flow along Fountain Green Road while work was underway.
A Foundation for What’s Next
This project demonstrates Comer Construction’s ability to handle complex site development with precision and care. The work at Fountain Green Road sets the stage for continued growth in Harford County, and we’re proud to be part of the progress shaping our community’s future.
