Offered through Harford Community College, the HLA brings together professionals across industries for a months-long program focused on strengthening local leadership, collaboration, and community impact. Over the years, more than 1,000 graduates have gone through the academy, helping shape Harford County into the dynamic place it is today.

Being part of the Harford Leadership Academy reminded me how important it is to stay connected—not just to our team, but to the broader community we serve. It gave me a deeper appreciation for the impact local businesses can have beyond the job site.
The graduation ceremony was especially meaningful, as both Dorothy and Keith were joined by their daughter to mark the occasion.
As a family-owned business rooted in Harford County since 1982, Comer Construction believes in investing in people at every level. Whether it’s building the infrastructure that supports our region or nurturing the leadership that guides it, we’re committed to long-term growth—for our employees, our clients, and our community.

This experience pushed me to think differently about problem-solving and communication. It’s one thing to manage projects—it’s another to lead people, and this program really sharpened that skill set.
